The excitement has been building and we have now opened the online registrations for 4-9 year olds to join in the fun in the Sutherland Hockey Club’s Minkey Program.
The HOOKin2HOCKEY Minkey Program commences on the first Friday of school term 2: Friday, 3rd May from 4:30pm-6pm. Further details regarding the Minkey Program are outlined below.
- Skill Development – the program involves experienced coaches/players introducing hockey to the little Minkies and developing their skills via drills and fun activities. The program does not involve any actual teams or competition games – just fun activities to develop their hockey skills each Friday.
- Fridays – Minkey sessions are held each Friday from 4:30pm–6pm throughout school Term 2 and the first half of Term 3. The first Friday afternoon session will be 3rd May.
- Equipment – participants will need to bring along to each session a hockey stick, shin guards, mouth guard and a water bottle. If you are unsure of what hockey stick to buy, then just come along to the first session and borrow a stick from the Club to work out the best option.
- Fees – the cost for the 2024 Minkey Program is $95 per child.
- Completion Certificate & BBQ – registration covers the fun associated with developing hockey skills during the program as well as a drink & BBQ, and a certificate presented to the participants at the last session of the program.
Welcome Gift – Minkies are part of the Club!
To welcome new Minkies into the program and make them feel part of the Sutherland Hockey Club, in conjunction with our major sponsor, Tradies, we will provide new Minkey participants with a shirt they can wear to each Minkey session.
